February 19, 2007 (Regular Meeting) Page 275 <br />reported the state statute previously allowed up to five children as part of <br />a home daycare and the number has been increased to eight children. <br />Ms. Zakraisek responded to a variety of questions from the Board. <br />At 7:07 p.m., Chairman Carruth opened the public hearing on the Text <br />Amendment to Chapter 7, Section 16, Home Occupation and Section 17, Home <br />Occupation, Rural, to Address Family Child Care Home Standards (C2007-O1-ZT). <br />The Public Hearing Notice was published on February 8, 2007 in THE CHARLOTTE <br />OBSERVER (Cabarrus Neighbors). <br />There was no one present to address the Board and Chairman Carruth <br />closed the public hearing. <br />UPON MOTION by Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted an ordinance amending Chapter 7, of <br />the Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance, Section 16, Home Occupation, .and <br />Section 17, Home. Occupation, Rural, to Address Family Child Care Home <br />Standards as follows: <br />Ordinance No. 2007-02 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CABARROS COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE <br />BE IT ORDAINED that the Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance is hereby amended as <br />follows: <br />Chapter 7, Performance Based Standards, Section 16, Home Occupation <br />• DELETE the following language: <br />Daycare with five children or less <br />• ADD the following language: <br />Daycare with eightchildren or less (See GS §110-86) <br />Chapter 7, Performance Based Standards, Section 17, Home Occupation, <br />rural <br />• DELETE the following language: <br />Daycare with five children or less <br />• ADD the following language <br />Daycare-with eight children or less (See GS X110-86) <br />Adopted this the 19th day of February 2007 by the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners. <br />/s/ Robert W.
