Carruth, Chairman <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />ATTEST: <br />/s/ Kay Honeycutt <br />Kay Honeycutt, Clerk to the Board <br />(G-5) Zoning Text Amendment to Chapter 11, Signage (C2007-03-ZT) - Public <br />Hearing 6:30 p.m. <br />Susie Zakraisek, Planning & Zoning Manager, presented a text amendment <br />to Chapter 11, Signage, of the Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance. She <br />reported this text amendment corrects typographical errors and <br />inconsistencies between the text and charts. She further reported the <br />proposed text amendment also eliminates the language concerning secondary <br />Signage, which no longer exists. <br />At 7:13 p.m., Chairman Carruth opened the public hearing on the text <br />amendment to Chapter 11, Signage of the Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance. <br />The Public Hearing Notice was published on February 8, 2007 IN THE CHARLOTTE <br />OBSERVER (Cabarrus Neighbors). <br />There was no one present to address the Board and Chairman Carruth <br />closed the public hearing. <br />UPON MOTION by Vice Chairman Juba, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted an ordinance amending the Cabarrus <br />County Zoning ordinance, Chapter 11, Signage, as follows: <br />Ordinance No. 2007-OS-A <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CABARRUS COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE <br />BE IT ORDAINED that the Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance is hereby amended as. <br />follows: <br />Chapter 11, Signage, Section 11-9 <br />DELETE the following: <br />Lighted or unlighted on premise Signage for noncommercial, <br />nonprofit type organizations including but not limited to churches, <br />civic organizations, etc., in number and size as follows: <br />-secondary signs in an amount equal to the same number of <br />abutting streets, not to exceed six (6) square feet per sign and to <br />be placed one per street. <br />Section 11-5, On-premise signage <br />DELETE the following: <br />• Permanent signs for residential subdivisions, multiple family <br />housing developments, or mobile home courts giving name only not exceeding <br />32 square feet preferably in the form of a ground sign at the primary <br />point of egress/ingress. <br />• Lighted or unlighted on premise signage for noncommercial, nonprofit <br />type organizations including but not limited to churches, civic <br />organizations, etc., in number and size as follows: one (1) primary sign <br />not to exceed fifty (50) square feet. <br />Section 11-9, Separate regulations relating to signage <br />DELETE the following text: <br />•Height <br />
