Carruth, Chairman <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />ATTEST: <br />/s/ Lori Hinson <br />Lori Hinson, Deputy Clerk to the Board <br />(F-3) Department of Aging - Centralina Council of Government, Home S <br />Community Care Block Grant - Approval of Grant Agreement <br />The Home & Community Care Block Grant for FY 2008 is a Grant Agreement <br />with the Centralina Council of Governments and the Department of Aging in the <br />amount of $647,659.00. This grant provides services to individuals who are <br />60 years of age or older residing in Cabarrus County. Funding for this grant <br />was approved in the FY O8 budget. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner White <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Agreement between Cabarrus <br />County and the Centralina Council of Governments in the amount of $697,654.00 <br />and authorized the County Manager to execute the agreement, subject to review <br />and/or revision by the County Attorney. <br />(F-4) Approval of Renewal Contract with Lutheran Family Services in the <br />Carolinas for Foster Care Services <br />The renewal contract will provide shelter and care to children in the <br />custody of the Cabarrus County Department of Social Services. The contract <br />amount is $161,990.00 for Fiscal Year 2008 and is budgeted. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner White <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the contract between the Cabarrus <br />County Department of Social Services and Lutheran Family Services in the <br />Carolinas in the amount of $181,940.00 for Fiscal Year 2008 and authorized <br />the County Manager to execute the contract, subject to review and/or revision <br />by the County Attorney. <br />Services - Reouest for Three Income Maintenance Caseworker II <br />Southern Piedmont Community Care Plan has agreed to cover 50 percent of <br />the nonfederal share of one position to increase clients enrolled in managed <br />care. Cabarrus Health Alliance has agreed to pay 100 percent of the <br />nonfederal share for one IMC II to be posted in their clinics to expand <br />access to health care coverage. The McGill Medical Center is a Federally <br />Qualified Health Center and Federal Regulations require an IMC to be posted <br />there to take Medicaid applications. Revenue will cover $61,897.00 of the <br />projected costs for EY 08 leaving the County responsible for $7,558.00. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner White <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the request for three new Income <br />Maintenance Caseworker II positions and adopted the following budget <br />amendment: <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br />DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES <br />AMOUNT: $69,955.00 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: Add three Income Maintenance Caseworker II (IMC) <br />positions to support increased client population served & meet federal <br />regulations to outpost staff at Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC). <br />Southern Piedmont Community Care Plan has agreed to cover 50 percent of the <br />nonfederal share of one position to increase clients enrolled in managed <br />care.
