The contract <br />renewal amount is $125,000.00 for Fiscal Year 2006 and is budgeted. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the contract between Cabarrus <br />County Department of Social Services and Northeast Psychological Services in <br />the amount of $125,000.00 for Fiscal Year 2006 and authorized the County <br />Manager to execute the contract. <br />(G) NEW BUSINES3 <br />(G-1) Text Amendment Chapter 5 (C2007-O6-ZT), District Development Standards <br />& Public Hearing - 6:30 p.m. <br />Kelly Sifford, Community Development Manager, provided a general <br />overview of the proposed text amendment to simplify some of the amenity <br />subdivision and anti-monotony standards. Based on the existing text, she <br />reported the planning staff has to measure the eaves and overhangs on a large <br />number of plans. She said the proposed amendment will eliminate the need to <br />physically measure the projections. <br />Commissioner Mynatt stated she is considering developing some property <br />in Cabarrus County. She briefly commented on how the ordinances affect small <br />developments. <br />Chairman Carruth opened the public hearing for Text Amendment Chapter 5 <br />(C2007-06-ZT), District Development Standards at 8:21 p.m. The Public <br />Hearing Notice was published on November 7 and 14, 2007 in THE INDEPENDENT <br />TRIBUNE. <br />There was no one present to address the Board; therefore, Chairman <br />Carruth closed the public hearing. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following ordinance amending <br />the Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance, C2007-06-ZT: <br />Ordinance No. 2007-15 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CABARRUS COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE (C2007-O6-ZT) <br />BE IT ORDAINED that the Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance is hereby amended as <br />follows: <br />DELETE: <br />Section 5-7, Part E Special Standards for Amenity Subdivisions and replace <br />with the following language: <br />E. Special standards for amenity subdivisions <br />1. Subdivision design <br />a. Block elements <br />No block shall be longer than 600 feet in length unless a mid- <br />block pedestrian and bicycle connection is provided, in which <br />case the block may extend up to 1,000 feet. A single-loaded <br />street.(houses on only one side) shall not be restricted in <br />length, provided that mid-block pedestrian and bicycle <br />connections are made at the rate of one for every 600 feet in <br />length. <br />
