<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Privette
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board awarded the bid to Newton's Fire & Safety,
<br />2724 Swepsonville-Saxapahaw Road, Swenpsonville, NC, for the purchase of the
<br />following equipment at a total cost of $227,666.00: 67 units - Blackhawk MMR
<br />4500 psig Tactical Air Mask with APR Adapter kit and CBA/RCA Filter Canister
<br />for APR Adapter.

<br />(F-10) Sheriff's Department - Purchase of 12 police Interceptor Vehicles
<br />from Hilbish Motor Company with Intended piggyback of City of Kannapolis Bid
<br />
<br />The FY 2006 Budget includes funding for 12 vehicles for the Sheriff's
<br />Office. Staff has recommended a "piggyback" of the City of Kannapolis bid
<br />that was awarded to Hilbish Motor Company in August 2005, pursuant to North
<br />Carolina General Statute 143-129. Notice of intent to piggyback the City of
<br />Kannapolis bid was published in THE INDEPENDENT TRIBUNE on December 12, 2005.

<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Freeman
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the purchase of 12 police
<br />Interceptor Vehicles from Hilbish Motor Company utilizing the piggyback of
<br />the August 2005 City of Kannapolis bid at a cost of $21,088.00 each (totaling
<br />$253,056.00) .

<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Freeman
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendments.
