BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST DEPARTMENT OF AGING AMOUNT: $3,314.00 TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request PURPOSE OF REQUEST: Supplemental funding of $3314 has been provided for the Home and Community Care Block Grant by NC Division of Aging and Adult Services. HCCBG committee recommends the additional funding be applied to Information and Assistance in order to better serve area residents in transitioning to Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan. New subdivision addresses are currently assigned within 10 business days of receipt of a final plat by the Planning Department. Citizens need timely address assignments to apply for permits and establish services. Addresses are necessary for houses, commercial buildings, office buildings, construction trailers, meter, cell towers, etc. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Freeman and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the addition of a new position (#1810020) to handle addressing with the use of Landline 911 funds and the appropriate budget revision. (F-8) Non-Emergency Transportation/EMS - Purchase of "Remount" Ambulance and Associated Budget Amendment The ambulance currently in service for the Non-Emergency Transportation Program has become a maintenance and a safety problem. The purchase cost of a "remount" ambulance is $55,000.00. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Freeman and unanimously carried, the Board approved the purchase of the "remount" ambulance and associated budget amendment. BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES AMOUNT: $55,000.00 TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request PURPOSE OF REQUEST: For the purchase of a remount ambulance for Non-Emergency Transportation. $31,750 of the purchase was obtained from the sale of transportation vans which require that funds are placed back into the program. An additional $23,250 was needed to complete the purchase.
