The original $35,000.00 contract was based upon the jack
hole being plumb, clear of rock or other underground conditions that would
hinder the installation of the new jack. Those conditions did not exist and
the existing jack hold must be redrilled to allow PVC to be installed in the
new jack hole. The drilling company completed Change Order No. 1 for
$6,238.05, including the removal of water from the hole and measurements of
the entire hole for an alignment tool to be made. Change Order No. 2 in the
amount of $83,784.74 was a not-to-exceed price to complete the work.

UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Chairman Carpenter
and unanimously carried, the Board approved Change Order No. 2 with
ThyssenKrupp Elevator to complete elevator repairs at the Courthouse in the
amount of $83,787.74 (not to exceed price) and adopted the following budget
amendment of $90,026.00 (funding for Change Orders No. 1 and 2); and
authorized the County Manager to sign Change Order No.2.

BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST

DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICE
AMOUNT: $90,026.00
TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request
PURPOSE OF REQUEST: Funds needed for Change
elevator at the Cabarrus County Courthouse.
allow installation of PVC for new jack.

Orders to complete work on the
Jack hole must be re-drilled to

Present Approved
Account No. Budget Increase
00192210-9501BM $96,109.05 $90,026.00
Building & Grounds Maintenance (Courts)
00161710-6901 $3,310,788.65 $90,026.00
Fund Balance Appropriated

Decrease

Revised Budget
$186,135.05

$3,400,814.65

(F-12) Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office Training Center and Firing Range Fee
Schedule

All law enforcement agencies in Cabarrus County and other area
jurisdictions currently have the opportunity to utilize the Training Center
and Firearm Range at no cost. The Sheriff's Office has proposed to charge a
usage fee to area agencies to offset future expenses incurred for repairs and
upgrades.
