October 20, 2003 Page 263 <br /> <br />(F-3) Department of Social Services - Consumer Directed Services Grant - Budget <br /> <br />Amendment <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment. <br /> <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF Social Services <br />AMOUNT: $30,000.00 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: Social Services jointly with the Department of Aging was <br />awarded a grant for the implementation of a consumer-directed care program in <br />July 2003. This is a pilot program geared toward allowing clients to direct <br />their own care. The client will be responsible for the management of their <br />caregiver allowing more flexibility in service delivery. Social Work staff will <br />be available as consultants to the client. This program will be monitored very <br />closely by DSS and reports will be made quarterly to the office of Long Term Care <br />as to the results. Aging will provide services as needed. <br /> <br /> Present <br /> Account No. ApDroved Budqet <br />00165650 6292 $0.00 <br />Consumer Directed Services Grant <br />00195650 9475 $0.00 <br /> Consumer Directed Services Grant <br /> <br />Increase Decrease <br /> <br />$30,000.00 <br />$30,000.00 <br /> <br />Revised Budqet <br /> <br />$30,000.00 <br />$30,000.00 <br /> <br />(F-4) Contract with the Town of Locust for Sediment and Erosion Control <br /> <br />Enforcement <br /> <br /> The City of Locust has annexed properties within Cabarrus County and <br />desires to contract with the County to perform Sediment and Erosion Control <br />Enforcement for those properties that lie within Cabarrus County only. These <br />services will be in addition to Building Inspection Services that were previously <br />approved, and will be supported by fees charged to the users. The North Carolina <br />Department of Environment and Natural Resources will perform these services if <br />not provided by Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the contract with the City of Locust <br />for Sediment and Erosion Control Ordinance Enforcement and authorized the County <br />Manager to sign the contract on behalf of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />(F-5) Register of Deeds Office Records Retention and Disposition Schedule <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the Retention and Disposition Schedule <br />for the Register of Deeds Office as prepared by the Division of Archives and <br />History and authorized the Chairman to sign the following "Approval Sheet" on <br />behalf of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> Register of Deeds <br />Records Retention and Disposition Schedule <br /> <br />The records retention and disposition schedule and retention periods <br />governing the records series listed herein are hereby approved. In <br />accordance with the provisions of Chapters 121 and 132 of the General <br />Statutes of North Carolina, it is agreed that the records do not and will <br />not have further use or value for official business, research, or <br />reference purposes after the respective retention periods specified <br />herein and are authorized to be destroyed or otherwise disposed of by the <br />agency or official having custody of them without further reference to <br />or approval of either party to this agreement. It is further agreed that <br />these records may not be destroyed prior to the time periods stated; <br />however, for sufficient reason they may be retained for longer periods. <br />This schedule is to remain in effect from the date of approval until it <br />is reviewed and updated. <br /> <br />/s/ Linda F.
