The Invitation to Bid was published in THE INDEPENDENT TRIBUNE on <br />November 1, 2002. <br /> BID TkBULATION <br /> <br />Company <br />Cloninger Ford, Inc. <br />Salisbury, NC <br /> <br /> Total Extended Additional <br />Unit Price Bid Amount Comments <br /> $250,518.84 <br /> <br />$20,876.57 <br /> <br />Hilbish Motor Co. <br />Kannapolis, NC <br /> <br />Town & Country Ford, Inc. <br />Charlotte, NC <br /> <br />$20,770.00 <br /> <br />$249,240.00 <br /> <br />No Bid <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the purchase of police <br />interceptor vehicles for the Sheriff's Department from Hilbish Motor Company <br />per the bids received on November 13, 2002, at a unit price of $20,770.00. <br /> <br />(E-2) Approve the Waiver of Yard Waste Disposal Fees at Landfill for Debris <br />from Ice Storm for the Period December 6 through December 23, 2002 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved nunc pro tunc the waiver of yard <br />waste disposal fees at the landfill for debris from the ice storm from <br />December 6 through December 23, 2002. <br /> <br />(E-3) Resolution Rec~uesting the Installation of Stoplights at the <br />Intersection of Irish Potato Road/Cold Springs Road and Poplar Tent <br /> <br />Road/Harris Road <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2002-39 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION ENDORSING INTERSECTION <br />IMPROVEMENTS BY THE NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT <br />OF TRA/qSPORTATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Cabarrus County is experiencing increasing traffic volume and <br />reduction of traffic safety at major intersections in the County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina Department of Transportation has offered installation <br />of signals at the intersection of Irish Potato Road (SR 2411) and Cold <br />Springs Road (SR 2411) and the intersection of Poplar Tent Road (SR 1394) and <br />Harris Road (SR 1449) to increase safety at these intersections; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this improvement to these intersection will provide increased safety <br />and improved traffic movement at these intersections for the Citizens of <br />Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners does hereby endorse the projects above as proposed by the North <br />Carolina Department of Transportation and request these intersection <br />improvements be constructed as proposed. <br /> <br />Adopted this the 16tn day of December 2002. <br /> <br /> /s/ Robert M.
