Evans, Secretary Department of Cultural Resources Resolution Authorizing Transfer of Surplus Ambulance to the Cabarrus Rescue Sc~uad UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette with Chairman Fennel, Vice Chairman Carruth and Commissioners Privette and Suggs voting for, the Board adopted the following Resolution authorizing the transfer of a 1996 Ford E-350 ambulance to the Cabarrus Rescue Squad. STATE OF North Carolina ) ) CABARRUS COUNTY ) RESOLUTION Resolution No. 2001-09 WHEREAS, Cabarrus County has one {1) 1996 Ford E-350 Ambulance Type III, vehicle identification number 1FDKE30F9THB40758; and, WHEREAS, this Board desires to dispose of the above' referenced equipment; and, WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 160A, Article 12 sets forth procedures and requirements for counties in selling and disposing of property. Procedures include private negotiation and sale, sale by sealed bids, auction, upset bids, and exchanges; and, WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 160A-279 provides that any governmental unit may convey personal property to any other entity carrying out a public purpose, without compensation. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County as follows: That in accordance with the provisions of General Statute 160A-267, this Board authorizes the County Purchasing Agent to dispose of the above referenced personal property no earlier than ten (10) days after a notice summarizing the contents of the resolution is published once. Also, pursuant to General Statute 160A-279, the aforementioned personal property may be conveyed to the Cabarrus Rescue Squad without compensation. Adopted this 21st day of May 2001. FENNEL, CHAIRMAN CABARRUS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Granting of Ri~ht-of-Way and Easement (Utility Easementr Sprin~ Street) to the City of Concord UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette with Chairman Fennel, Vice Chairman Carruth and Commissioners Privette and Suggs voting for, the Board granted a Right-of-Way and Easement {Utility Easement, Spring Street) across County property in No. 12 Township to the City of Concord and authorized the County Manager to execute the Right-of-Way and Easement on behalf of.the County. Award of Contract ($29r500.00) to Asbestos Technologies for Removal of Asbestos Material from the First Union Buildin~ The following bids were received by Mr. Mike Downs, DeveloPment Services Director, for the removal of asbestos materials from the First Union Building on South Union Street: Asbestos Technologies ($29,500.00); Concord Asbestos Abatement ($34,650.00); Contaminant Control ($43,250.00); and QESI ($61,862.00). UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette with Chairman Fennel, Vice Chairman Carruth and Commissioners Privette and Suggs voting for, the Board awarded the contract for the removal of asbestos materials from the First Union Building to the low bidder, Asbestos Technologies, in the amount of $29,500.00 and authorized the County Manager to sign the "acceptance" of the proposal from Asbestos Technologies.
