M. Irvin Elementary School <br /> <br />into the City of Concord <br /> <br /> .Mr. John Day, Deputy County Manager for Operations, and Ms. Londa <br />Strong, Assistant Recreation Director, reviewed the proposal for the County <br />and the City of Concord to jointly fund $88,500.00 in turf improvements for <br />five athletic fields at the new Concord Middle and Eastside (W. M. Irvin) <br />Elementary School/Park Sites. The school/park project is a joint effort of <br />the County, the City and Cabarrus Schools. Mr. Day also pointed out the <br />school system would save approximately 50 percent in insurance premiums as a <br />result of the annexation by the City of Concord. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Casper and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following budget amendment to <br />provide the County's share of funding for turf improvements to the athletic <br />fields at the new Concord Middle School and the new Eastside (W. M.
