Chairman Barnhart will continue <br />discussions with municipa! officials regarding areas of possible consolidation. <br /> <br />Discussion of Requested Right-of-Way Agreement between Cabarrus County and Duke <br />Power Company ' <br /> <br /> Mr. Hartsell reviewed the requested relocation of the Duke Power right-of- <br />way to serve the public housing facility to be built by the City of Concord on <br />property behind the Gabarrus County Health Department. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Casper, seconded by Commissioner Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized the execution of the Right of Way <br />Agreement (Parcel No. 58~49, Project No. 62(N.0.) between Cabarrus County and <br />Duke Power Company subject to the conclusion of the ten-day notice periOd for the <br />exchange. <br /> <br />Appointments Parks and Recreation Commission (4) <br /> <br /> The Board received the resignation of Mr. Michael Phillips as the Township <br />1/2 representative on the Parks and Recreation Commission. Mr. Phillips has <br />moved to Township 3. ~ <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the ~oard made the following appointments/reappointments to <br />the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Commission. <br /> <br />Appointments <br />Mr. Michael A. Logan - Township 9/10 - Three-year term ending <br /> January 31, 1999 <br /> <br />Appointments Tourism Authority (3) <br /> <br /> The Board acknowledged the resignation of Mr. Douglas Stafford, Cabarrus <br />Chamber of Commerce nominee, from the Tourism Authority. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the Bbard approved the following appointments/reappointments <br />to the Tourism Authority: <br /> <br />Appointment <br />Mr. Joe Phelps - Cabarrus Chamber of Commerce - To complete unexpired term <br /> ending December 31, 1996 <br /> <br />Reappointments <br />Mr. Roger Haas - KannapoltsChamber of Commerce - Three-Year term ending <br /> December 31, .1998. <br />Mr. Steve Propst - Cabarrus Chamber of Commerce Three-year term ending <br /> December 31, 1998 <br /> <br />Request for Appointments - Mr. Hartsell <br /> <br /> Mr. Hartsell requested that the Board fill the two vacancies on the <br />Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority as soon as <br />possible. Chairman Barnhart asked the Board members to work with Mr. Hartsell <br />in bringing recommendations to the Board. <br /> <br /> <br />
