Barnhart <br />Chairman, Cabarrus County <br />Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />Proclamation - County Government Week in Cabarrus County <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Casper, seconded by Commissioner Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Proclamation. <br /> <br />COUNTY GOVERNMENT WEEK <br />April 21-27, 1996 <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br /> county government is one of the oldest forms of local <br /> government in the United States; and <br /> Cabarrus County and the other county governments in <br /> North Carolina play a key role in the governmental <br /> partnership as the local provider and facilitator of <br /> important services for the community; and <br /> Cabarrus County and its employees provide a wide <br /> spectrum of services to meet the needs of the public, <br /> including such programs as health care, child and elder <br /> care, environmental protection, social services, job <br /> training, parks and recreation, emergency medical <br /> services and law enforcement; and <br /> Cabarrus County serves as a major partner in the public <br /> education system, contributing its share of funding to <br /> elementary-secondary schools as well as community <br /> colleges. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County Board <br />of Commissioners proclaims the week of April 21 27, 1996 as <br /> County Government Week in Cabarrus County <br />and urges all citizens to be more involved in and aware of issues <br />facing Cabarrus County. <br /> Adopted this the 4th day of April, 1996. <br /> <br /> /s/ Jeffrey L.
