167 <br /> <br />Emergency Medical Services - Bid Award for Three Ambulances <br /> <br /> The following bids were received~pn September 6, 1996 for the purchase of <br />three ambulances for the Emergency Medical Services. <br /> <br /> COMPANY <br />First Response, Inc. <br />Chief's Fire & Rescue <br /> <br />BID <br />$186,114.00 <br />$195,120.00 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel with <br />Chairman Barnhart and Commissioners Fennel and Niblock voting for, the Board <br />awarded the bid for the purchase of three ambulances to the low bidder, First <br />Response, Inc., in the amount of $186,114.00. <br /> <br />Cabarrus County Courthouse - Bid Award for Caulking <br /> <br /> The following bids were received on September 3, 1996 for caulking the <br />Cabarrus County Courthouse. <br /> <br /> COMPANY <br />Western Weatherproofing <br />Lesco Restoration <br />Salem Contracting Company <br /> <br />BID <br />$51,157.00 <br />$39,169.00 <br />$34,997.00 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel with <br />Chairman Barnhart and Commissioners Fennel and Niblock voting for, the Board <br />awarded the contract for caulking the Cabarrus County Courthouse to the low <br />bidder, Salem Contracting Company, in the amount of $31,497.30 (bid amount of <br />$34,997.00, less the 10 percent contingency) as requested by Mr. John Page, <br />General Services Director. <br /> <br />Bid Award for Computer "Group" Purchase <br /> <br /> The following bids were received on August 30, 1996 for the Computer <br />"Group" Purchase for various departments. <br /> <br /> COMPANY <br />Computer Concepts <br />PC Help <br />Logical Choice <br /> <br />BID <br />$100,021.00 <br />$119,897.70 <br />$116,072.00 <br /> <br /> A memorandum dated September 5, 1996, from Ms. Debbie Brannan, IS Systems <br />Manager, was included in the agenda outlining recommended changes to the Request <br />for Proposals (RFP) for each department. These recommended changes reduced the <br />total cost to $92,810.00 for the purchase of 25 personal computers along with the <br />configuration and setup costs. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel with <br />Chairman Barnhart and Commissioners Fennel and Niblock voting for, the Board <br />awarded the bid to the low bidder, Computer Concepts of Monroe, NC, with the <br />stipulation that negotiations will be made on a department basis to remain within <br />the individual departments' budgets. <br /> <br />Road Petition - Addition to State System (Ext. Moss Drive, SR 2880~ <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel with <br />Chairman Barnhart and Commissioners Fennel and Niblock voting for, the Board <br />approved the addition of 0.03 mile of Moss Drive (SR 2880) to the state road <br />system. <br /> <br />Proclamation - First Citizens Bank Big Sweep <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel with <br />Chairman Barnhart and Commissioners Fennel and Niblock voting for, the Board <br />adopted the following Proclamation. <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, water is a basic and essential need for all life; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, over 300 miles of streams flow in Cabarrus County; and <br /> <br /> <br />
