325 <br /> <br />Bid Award - LAN Workstattons for the Department of Social Services - Ms, Sherrt <br />~arnhardt, Purchasing Agent <br /> <br /> Chairman Barnhart asked to be excused from voting in the matter regarding <br />the bid award for the LAN Workstatlons. Cook, Jr., Social <br />Services Director, discussed the recommendation to award the bid to Micron <br />Computers, Inc. for 40 workstations. <br /> <br /> There was discussion regarding the bid specifications, specifically the <br />request for a bid including both equipment and service. It was noted that the <br />County had discontinued maintenance contracts on personal computers several years <br />ago. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner .Olio-Mills <br />with Commissioners Fennel, Olio-Mills, Gasper and Niblock voting for and Chairman <br />Barnhart abstaining, the Board directed that the LAN workstations be rebid and <br />a recommendation brought back to the Board as soon as possible. <br /> <br />Bid Award - Playground Equipment for Parks and Recreation Department - Ms, Sherri <br />Barnhardt, Purchasing Agent <br /> <br /> The following bids were received on January 27, 1995 for Playground <br />Equipment. <br /> <br />Sites <br />Frank Liske Park <br />Aycock Elementary <br />Shadybrook Elementary <br />Harrisburg Elementary <br />Fred L. She stated that Winecoff Elementary School workers will install <br />the equipment at that school, thereby reducing the cost by $2,030.00 for a total <br />bid award of $113,845.00. <br /> <br /> Chairman Barnhart questioned the source of the matching funds for the <br />incentive grants to the schools. He stated that all future incentive grants <br />should be matched entirely by private funds, not County money. <br /> <br /> <br />
