In <br />response to concerns about the safety of the Ford ambulances, Mr. Hampton <br />reported that the County EMS has experienced no problems with the existing Ford <br />vehicles which have the single belt system. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Olio-Mills, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the Board awarded the bid for the purchase of three <br />ambulances, Type III, for Emergency Medical Services to the low bidder, First <br />Response, in the amount of $179,649.00. <br /> <br />Bid Award - Sheriff's Department Vehicles <br /> <br /> The following bids were received on September 25, 1995, for 12 full-size <br />police package automobiles for the Sheriff's Department. <br /> <br /> COMPANY <br />Hilbish Motor Company <br />Town & Country Ford <br /> <br /> BID <br />$220,944.00 <br />$220,884.00 <br /> <br /> The Board discussed the $60.00 difference of the two bids. Also, the Board <br />compared the estimated personnel costs of $360.00 to pick up the vehicles at the <br />low bidder in Charlotte and $135.00 to pick up the vehicles at the high bidder <br />in Kannapolis. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Olio-Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the Board awarded the bid for the 12 law enforcement <br />vehicles to the second lowest bidder, Hilbish Motor Company, in the amount of <br />$220,944.00 because it is less expensive to pick up the vehicles at Hilbish Motor <br />Company in Kannapolis than to pick up the vehicles at Town and Country Ford in <br />Charlotte. <br /> <br />Transfer of Afton Run Sewer Line to the Water and Sewer Authority <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Olio-Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized the transfer of the Afton Run Sewer <br />Line, including the Rights of Way and Easements and Rights of Way Encroachments, <br />to the Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County. Lists of the Right of Way <br />and Easement Agreements (Exhibit A~I) and the Right of Way Encroachment <br />Agreements (Exhibit A-2) are attached to the North Carolina General Warranty Deed <br />recorded in the Office of the Cabarrus County Register of Deeds. <br /> <br />Information Services Fee Schedule <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Olio-Mills, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the Revised Fee Schedule for Information <br />Services. <br /> <br /> <br />
