Bonds <br />Clerk, Board of Commissioners <br />Cabarrus County, North Carolina <br /> <br />Lease with Historic Cabarrus, Inc. for Historic Cabarrus County Courthouse <br /> <br /> The Board reviewed the proposed lease for the Historic Courthouse. <br />Chairman Barnhart asked that a provision be added to prohibit assignment of the <br />lease without prior approval by the Board. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Casper and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following Lease as amended with <br />Historic Cabarrus, Inc. <br /> <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> THIS LEASE, made and entered into this the 7th day of <br /> February, 1994, by and between the BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS of <br /> Cabarrus County, North Carolina, a body corporate and politic, <br /> hereinafter called "the County" or "Cabarrus County", and HISTORIC <br /> CABARRUS, INC., a non-profit corporation organized and existing <br /> under the laws of the State of North Carolina, having its principal <br /> office in the City of Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina, <br /> hereinafter called "Historic Cabarrus"; <br /> W I T N E S E T H: that -- <br /> WHEREAS, the County has determined that the property <br />· hereinafter described, known as the "Old Cabarrus County <br /> Courthouse", will not be needed by the County for the term of this <br /> lease and the renewal term; and that it is in the best interest of <br /> the County to enter into this Lease Agreement. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION OF THE PREMISES AND OF THE <br /> AGREEMENTS HEREINAFTER SET OUT TO BE DONE AND PERFORMED BY HISTORIC <br /> CABARRUS, the County does hereby demise and lease unto Historic <br /> Cabarrus the following described property: <br /> <br /> Lying and being in Ward No. 3 of the City of <br />Concord, North Carolina, on the east side of South Union <br />Street and on the south side of Means Avenue and being <br />the lot upon which the old Cabarrus County Courthouse is <br />located and described as follows: <br /> BEGINNING at a point in the southeast intersection <br />of South Union Street and Means Avenue and running <br />thence with Means Avenue in an easterly direction to a <br />point; thence in a southerly direction parallel with and <br />40 feet from the rear wall of the old Cabarrus County <br />Courthouse to a point; thence in a westerly direction <br />along a line midway between the south wall of the old <br />Cabarrus County Courthouse and the edge of the bottom <br />step on the north side of the new Cabarrus County <br /> <br /> <br />
