NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners hereby adopts and implements this amendment to the Cabarrus County Personnel Ordinance effective January 1, 1994, with a copy of this Resolution to be forwarded to the Local Governmental Employees Retirement System. Chairman Barnhart asked that a provision be added to prohibit assignment of the lease without prior approval by the Board. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Casper and unanimously carried, the Board approved the following Lease as amended with Historic Cabarrus, Inc. NORTH CAROLINA CABARRUS COUNTY THIS LEASE, made and entered into this the 7th day of February, 1994, by and between the BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, a body corporate and politic, hereinafter called "the County" or "Cabarrus County", and HISTORIC CABARRUS, INC., a non-profit corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of North Carolina, having its principal office in the City of Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina, hereinafter called "Historic Cabarrus"; W I T N E S E T H: that -- WHEREAS, the County has determined that the property · hereinafter described, known as the "Old Cabarrus County Courthouse", will not be needed by the County for the term of this lease and the renewal term; and that it is in the best interest of the County to enter into this Lease Agreement.
