ORGANIZATION OF PERSONNEL SYSTEM <br /> <br />Add the following to Section 2. Coverage <br /> 7. Employees of the Greater Cabarrus County Economic Development <br /> Corporation. <br /> <br />Personnel Management Programs - Chairman Barnhart <br /> <br /> Chairman Barnhart presented the following Cabarrus County Personnel <br />Management Programs. <br /> <br />GABARRUS COUNTY PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS <br /> <br />OBJECTIVE: To provide logical management principles and continuity <br />to compensation matters. <br /> <br />INTENT: <br />1. To stabilize the compensation package for Cabarrus County <br /> employees which has been somewhat unpredictable from year-to- <br /> year for many years. <br />2. To enhance the recruitment and retention of quality employees <br /> through time, thus allowing the county to fully recoup its <br /> investment in the employee. <br />3. To solidify the county's commitment to its employees in fair <br /> exchange for their commitment to Cabarrus County and its <br /> citizens. <br />4. To assure that the same benefits are provided to each employee <br /> regardless of what area of county service they are employed. <br />5. To maintain a pay scale that is consistent with like jobs in <br /> the surrounding area and in similar governmental entities over <br /> time. <br />6. To bring all employees under the same pay system. <br />7. To provide for a smoother, more consistent process in <br /> budgeting each year. <br />8. To provide a means by which each employee, jointly with their <br /> supervisors, may plan and track their career development if <br /> they so desire. <br /> <br /> <br />
