273 <br /> <br />01-9-32-60-202 978.07 55.68 1,033.75 <br />Medicare <br />01-9-32-60-610 1,800.00 1,200.00 3,000.00 <br />Travel <br /> <br />Proclamation - Senior Center Year <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Casper, seconded by Commissioner Payne with <br />Commissioners Casper and Payne and Chairman Carpenter voting for, the Board <br />adopted the following Proclamation and authorized the Chairman to sign the <br />Proclamation on behalf of the County. <br /> <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />older Americans are significant members of our society, investing <br />their wisdom and experience to help enrich and better the lives of <br />younger generations: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Cabarrus County Senior Center has acted as a catalyst for <br />mobilizing the creativity, energy, vitality and commitment of older <br />residents of Cabarrus County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />through the wide array of services, programs and activities, senior <br />centers empower older adults throughout Cabarrus County to <br />contribute to their own health and well-being and the health and <br />well-being of their fellow citizens of all ages; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />on May 10, 1993, we will begin the year long celebration of 50 years <br />of senior centers. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carolyn B. Carpenter, Chairman of the Cabarrus County Board <br />of Commissioners do hereby proclaim 1993 as <br /> SENIOR CENTER YEAR <br />and call upon all citizens to recognize the special contributions of the Senior <br />Center participants, and the special efforts of its staff and volunteers who work <br />every day to enhance the well-being of the older persons in our county. <br /> <br />This the 3rd day of May, 1993. <br /> <br />/s/ Carolyn B. Carpenter <br /> Chairman, Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services - 20th Anniversary Celebration <br /> Aubrey Attkisson <br /> <br /> Mr. Ron Harwood, EMT/Paramedic Supervisor with the Cabarrus County <br />Emergency Medical Services (EMS), presented a short history of Cabarrus County <br />EMS which began operation on October 1, 1973. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Casper, seconded by Chairman Carpenter with <br />Commissioners Casper and Payne and Chairman Carpenter voting for, the Board <br />adopted the following Proclamation. <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Emergency Medical Services personnel provide essential lifesaving <br />medical care to the citizens of Cabarrus County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />several hundred emergency medical technicians, paramedics, emergency <br />room physicians and nurses are involved in providing emergency care <br />around the clock; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />a large number of these individuals unselfishly volunteer their time <br />to provide this valuable service; and <br /> <br /> <br />
