<br />IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE
<br />When unable to acquire necessary right-of-way for unpaved
<br />roads, will apply available funds programmed for that
<br />improvement toward the next priorities.
<br />
<br /> Commissioner Barnhart questioned Mr. Hough regarding the rough condition
<br />of Highway 601 near the intersection of Old Charlotte Road. Mr. Hough indicated
<br />he would investigate this problem. Also, in response to questioning by
<br />Commissioner Casper, Mr. Hough reported that Jim Sossamon Road is scheduled for
<br />resurfactng this year.
<br />
<br /> Chairman Carpenter opened the public hearing on the proposed Secondary
<br />Roads program at 7:15 P.M. and asked if anyone were present who wished to address
<br />the Board regarding the proposed program. There was no one present to speak
<br />either for or against the program, and Chairman Carpenter closed the public
<br />hearing.

<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Casper and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution.

<br />A RESOLUTION RELATIVE TO THE
<br />1993-1994 SECONDARY ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
<br /> FOR CABARRUS COUNTY
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation has
<br /> submitted a proposed Secondary Road Improvement Program
<br /> in the amount of $623,838.00 for Cabarrus County for the
<br /> 1993-1994 Fiscal Year; and
<br />WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners in accordance
<br /> with North Carolina General Statute 136-44.8 held a
<br /> public hearing on June 21, 1993 at 6:30 P.M. in the
<br /> Commissioners~ Meeting Room at the Cabarrus County
<br /> Governmental Center in Concord, North Carolina, in order
<br /> to consider public comments about the proposed Secondary
<br /> Road Improvement Program; and
<br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 136-44.8 provides that
<br /> the Board of County Commissioners, after the
<br /> presentation and discussion of the annual Secondary Road
<br /> Improvement Program, may concur with the program as
<br /> proposed.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the
<br />County of Cabarrus that said Board does concur with the 1993-1994
<br />Secondary Road Improvement Program as presented by the North
<br />Carolina Department of Transportation and recommend that the Board
<br />of Transportation adopt the proposed program for Cabarrus County.
