Carpenter & Company. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel with <br />Commissioners Barnhart, Fennel and Casper and Chairman Carpenter voting for, the <br />Board accepted the proposal from Jeffrey C. Carpenter & Company for office space <br />at the Branchview Plaza Shopping Center for the Home Health Agency at a cost of <br />$7.60 per square foot. The Board further authorized Mr. John Day to proceed with <br />the preparation of the contract for the office space consisting of 9,443 square <br />feet. <br /> <br />Recycling Program - Termination of Contract with Container Corporation of <br />Carolina/Approval of Contract with Browning-Ferris Industries of South Atlantic. <br />~nc., <br /> <br /> Mr. Hartsell briefly reviewed the termination letter from Container <br />Corporation of Carolina (CCC) and the proposed contract with Browning-Ferris <br />Industries of South Atlantic (BFI) relative to the curbside recycling program tn <br />Gabarrus Gounty. During discussion, the proposed contract was amended to include <br />the word "disability" in Section 6, Nondiscrimination, and to add the words "per <br />month" at the end of Subsection 11.1, Rates. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart with <br />Commissioners Fennel, Barnhart, and Casper and Chairman Carpenter voting for, the <br />Board accepted the letter of termination from Container Corporation of Carolina <br />for the pilot curbside recycling program effective November 15, 1993 and accepted <br />the contract as amended with Browning-Ferris Industries of South Atlantic, Inc. <br />(BFI) for curbside recycling service effective November 15, 1993. The Board <br />further authorized the Chairman to execute both documents on behalf of Cabarrus <br />County. Carpenter <br />Chairperson <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />Post Office Box 709 <br />Concord, North Carolina 28026-0707 <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />Contract between Container Corporation of Carolina ("CCC") and Cabarrus <br />County ("the County") -- Pilot Curbside Recycling Program <br /> <br />Dear Ms. Carpenter: <br /> <br />This letter is to state our mutual agreement as to the full cancellation and <br />termination as of November 15, 1993 of the contract between CCC and the County <br />for the Pilot Curbside Recycling Program under which CCC is providing recycling <br />service to the County. This contract and CCC's recycling service thereunder will <br />continue in full effect to and including November 15, 1993, for which service CCC <br />will receive full payment. <br /> <br />Please acknowledge the County's acceptance of this agreement of full cancellation <br />and termination by signing below and returning a signed copy of this letter to <br />CCC. <br /> <br />Sincerely, <br />/s/ W.
