486 <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />Coddle Creek Reservoir - Proposed Amendment to Engineering Services Agreement - <br />HDR Engineering. Inc. <br /> <br /> Mr. Paul Watson, Engineer with HDR Engineering, reviewed the proposed <br />Engineering Services Agreement amendment which provides for contract <br />administration services, revised scope of work, and new fee authorization for <br />environmental services as follows: <br /> 1. during construction in the amount of $69,125.00; <br /> 2. during extended construction period related to: <br /> a. engineering in the amount of $90,715.00; <br /> b. mitigation in the amount of $28,500.00; and <br /> 3. new Mitigation Monitoring Program fees thru FY 93-94 in <br /> the amount of $126,000.00. <br /> <br />It was noted that portions of the above costs should be recoverable from the <br />contractor due to their actions and or delays in project completion. These <br />include $12,070.00 of item 1 and approximately $83,500.00 of item 2.a. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Casper and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the "Amendment to Agreement between <br />Cabarrus County and HDR Engineering, Inc. of North Carolina (formerly HDR <br />Infrastructure, Inc. of North Carolina) for Professional Engineering Services for <br />Coddle Creek Reservoir (September 8, 1987)" <br /> <br /> AMENDMENT TO <br /> AGREEMENT BETWEEN CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> and <br />HDR ENGINEERING, INC. OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />(formerly HDR Infrastructure, Inc. of North Carolina) <br />for <br /> PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES <br /> for <br /> CODDLE CREEK RESERVOIR <br /> (September 8, 1987) <br /> <br />THIS AMENDMENT to an AGREEMENT dated September 8, 1987, and amended <br />August 19, 1991, is made this 20th day of December, 1993, between <br />Cabarrus County, North Carolina ("OWNER"), with principal offices at <br />77 Church Street, Concord, North Carolina, 28025, and HDR <br />Engineering, Inc. of North Carolina ("ENGINEER"), a North Carolina <br />corporation, with principal offices at 128 South Tryon Street, <br />Charlotte, North Carolina, 28202, for services in connection with <br />the project known as Coddle Creek Dam and Reservoir. <br /> <br />Add the following as paragraph 1.5.9 - Additional Services During <br />Construction under Section 1 - BASIC SERVICES: <br /> <br />1.5.9 Additional Services During Construction <br />1.5.9.1 Provide additional services involving evaluation, <br />negotiations and settlement of a Contractor's claim for additional <br />costs related to the Grout Curtain construction. <br />1.5.9.2 Provide additional services involving evaluation of a <br />Contractor construction error involving concrete work on the <br />principal spillway. <br />1.5.9.3 Provide additional services involving evaluation of high <br />water levels in several of the piezometers installed in the dam <br />core. <br />1.5.9.4 Provide additional services for extended construction <br />contract administration including time overruns by the Contractor. <br /> <br />Add the following as details for paragraphs 1.6.3.1 - Monitoring <br />through 1.6.3.2 Maintenance under SECTION 1 BASIC SERVICES: <br />1.6.3.1 Monitoring. In accordance with the 404 permit, the <br />monitoring program will require the specific evaluation through <br />statistically accurate methodology, of the following: <br /> * survivorship and growth of bottomland hardwoods <br /> and upland conifers and hardwoods installed in <br /> <br /> <br />
