447 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the games played between the teams in 1991, each team won one <br />(1) game, and each team lost only one (1) other game during the entire season; <br />and <br /> WHEREAS, each team won a championship in which its players, coaches and <br />schools take justifiable pride, the team from A. L. Brown High School having won <br />the AAA western regional championship of the State of North Carolina, and the <br />team from Concord High. School having won the South Piedmont Conference <br />championship; and <br /> WHEREAS, these teams instilled in their fellow students the knowledge that <br />they can do great things through hard work, self-improvement, and teamwork, <br />characteristics which serve as a great lesson, not only for our young people, <br />but for all of us; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners for <br />Cabarrus County hereby PROCLAIMS January 24, 1992, as CABARRUS SUPERBOWL DAY, <br />to honor the achievements of the football teams of A.L. Carpenter <br /> Chairperson <br /> <br /> Chairman Carpenter stated pride in all the schools in the county for the <br />many accomplishments in both academics and sports activities. <br /> County Attorney Hartsell reported on a recent meeting of the Cabarrus <br />Utilities Board concerning the establishment of a Water and Sewer Authority. <br />He stated that a tentative public hearing had been scheduled for 7:00 P.M. on <br />February 17, 1992, at the Central Cabarrus High School for the County and all <br />the municipalities to receive comments relative to the proposed Authority.
