Bonds <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br />(Signature of Mayor or Official) <br /> (Title) <br /> (Signature of Witness) <br /> Title (SEAL) <br /> <br />Confirmation of Appointment to Carolinas Partnership Board <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart with <br />Commissioners Hamby, Barnhart and Simmons and Chairman Carpenter voting for, the <br />Board confirmed the reappointment of Mr. Tim Crist as the County's representative <br />on the Carolinas Partnership Board of Directors for a term of one-year beginning <br />October 22, 1992. <br /> <br />Proclamation - Miss Eugenia White Lore Day <br /> <br /> Chairman Carpenter reported that Miss EugeniaWhite Lore had been honored <br />as the oldest citizen of Cabarrus County at a Bicentennial Musical Review held <br />at Central Cabarrus High School on Sunday, October 18. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Chairman Carpenter with <br />Commissioners Hamby, Barnhart and Simmons and Chairman Carpenter voting for, the <br />Board adopted the following Proclamation nunc pro tune. <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Miss Eugenia White Lore, is the most senior citizen of Cabarrus <br />County, being 104 years young; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Miss Lore has contributed many hours of work in preserving and <br />detailing local history and genealogy, including co-writing with her <br />sister, the late Miss Adelaide Lore, the Morrison family history in <br />1950, the White family history in 1967, and Open the Gate and Roam <br />Cabarrus with Us in 1971, and compiling information for Early <br />Medicine in Cabarrus County published in 1990; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Miss Lore has spent many countless hours recording tombstone <br />inscriptions from church and family cemeteries, reading and <br />transcribing early church records, and researching and compiling <br />data from old family Bibles; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Miss Lore has donated many records to the Local History Room, <br />appropriately designated the Lore Room, of the Cannon Memorial <br />Library; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Miss Lore has devoted much time and energy working with such <br />patriotic and historical organizations as the United Daughters of <br />the Confederacy, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and <br />Historic Cabarrus, Inc.; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Miss Lore, with her diligent efforts through the years to make us <br />aware of our history and heritage, has justly earned and deserves <br />public recognition during the year-long celebration of the County's <br />200th anniversary, in particular during the Bicentennial Musical <br />Review presented on October 18, 1992 as a tribute to all the senior <br />citizens of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carolyn B. Carpenter, Chairman of the Cabarrus County <br />Board of Commissioners, do hereby proclaim Sunday, October 18, 1992, as <br /> <br />MISS EUGENIA WHITE LORE DAY <br /> <br />in Cabarrus County, and call this special day to the attention of all our <br />citizens so that we may express our appreciation to Miss Lore and extend our <br />sincere best wishes for her future happiness. <br /> <br /> <br />
