57 <br /> <br />institutional purpose and mission submitted for consideration <br />to the President and Board of Governors by The University of <br />North Carolina at Charlotte and recommends approval thereof. <br /> <br />UNCC STATEMENT OF INSTITUTIONAL MISSION <br /> <br />The University of North Carolina at Charlotte offers <br />degree programs at the baccalaureate, master's, <br />intermediate, and doctoral levels. It is committed to <br />a broad and balanced curriculum in the liberal arts and <br />sciences and selected professional programs and aspires <br />to significant growth in size and distinction. Small, Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> Chairman Simmons also requested that the Resolution be sent to Mayors of <br />local municipalities as well as to the Concord/Cabarrus County Chamber of <br />Commerce and the Kannapolis Chamber of Commerce. <br /> The Board received the letter from Mr. Joel Mashburn, Iredell County <br />Manager, announcing the Carolinas Counties Coalition Conference scheduled for <br />March 28, 1991 at Davidson College and requesting the payment of $500.00 as <br />Cabarrus County's share of the costs for the conference. There were no <br />objections to the County's participating in the Conference, and Chairman Simmons <br />appointed Commissioners Carpenter and Hamby to prepare a list of 20 persons to <br />be invited to attend the conference as representatives from Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS CONSENT <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Hamby with <br />Commissioners Payne, Hamby and Carpenter and Chairman Simmons voting for, the <br />Board adopted the following Amendment to the Senior Center Capital Project <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY SENIOR CENTER <br /> CAPITAL PROJECT ORDINANCE <br /> AMENDMENT <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of <br />Cabarrus, North Carolina that the following amendment to the <br />Cabarrus County Senior Center Capital Project Ordinance as adopted <br />on September 17, 1990, be approved: <br /> <br />Expenditures <br /> Consultant $575.00 <br /> Capital Outlay-Building $776.25 <br /> Equipment and Furniture ($1,351.25) <br />Purpose: <br /> To appropriate additional funds for building costs and interior <br /> decorator fees. <br /> <br />Adopted this the 4th day of March, 1991. <br /> <br /> /s/ Billy J.
