58 <br /> <br /> On February 18, 1991, the Board had authorized a change order not to exceed <br />$1,000.00 for the installation of exhaust fans at the Senior Center. The actual <br />change order as approved for this work was as follows: <br /> <br />Change Order Number: 3 <br />Contract for: Single Prime <br />Contractor: Liles Construction Company <br /> <br />Provide and install two smoking exhaust fans, exhaust ducts, roof <br />caps and electrical wiring for Entry Foyer. Add $776.25. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Hamby with <br />Commissioners Payne, Hamby, and Carpenter and Chairman Simmons voting for, the <br />Board approved the following amendment to the Transportation Development Plan <br />to reflect the changes in the Section 18 application for Fiscal Year 1991-1992. <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO TDP <br /> <br />This Amendment, entered into this 4th day of March, 1991 by Cabarrus <br />County to change the TDP applicant for the Section 18 application <br />from Cabarrus County Department of Aging to Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />This amendment shall be effective March 4, 1991. <br /> <br />In witness whereof this amendment is executed by the parties the day <br />and year first above written. <br /> <br />ATTEST <br />County: Cabarrus County <br />Signature: /s/ Billy J, Simmons, Jr. <br /> Billy J. Simmons, Jr., Chairman <br /> Board of Commissioners <br />Date: March 4, 1991 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Hamby with <br />Commissioners Payne, Hamby, and Carpenter and Chairman Simmons voting for, the <br />Board adopted the following Proclamation. <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />a disproportionate number of the more than 2 million <br />North Carolinians age 45 and older are unemployed; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />these middle-aged and older workers bring extensive <br />experience and high job qualifications to the work force <br />of the state and are steady, reliable workers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the federal government and the State of North Carolina <br />identify employment of middle-aged and older workers as <br />a priority in attaining maximum productivity of the <br />labor force; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />in pursuing this goal, March 10-16, 1991 has been <br />designated as EMPLOY THE OLDER WORKER WEEK. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, Billy J. Simmons, Jr., Chairman of the <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners, do hereby proclaim March <br />10-16, 1991 as: <br /> <br />EMPLOY THE OLDER WORKER WEEK <br />IN CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> FURTHERMORE, I urge all employers in Cabarrus County to <br />carefully consider the qualifications of persons aged 45 and older <br />when they seek new employees, and I ask public officials with job <br />placement responsibility to intensify their efforts throughout the <br />year to help older workers find suitable jobs. <br /> <br /> WITNESS my hand and corporate seal of the County of Cabarrus, <br />North Carolina, this the 4th day of March, 1991. <br /> <br /> <br />
