276 <br /> <br /> UPON AMENDED MOTION of Commissioner Hamby seconded by Commissioner <br />Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board approved the budget amendment to <br />appropriate funds in the amount of $4,563.00 for the addition of a temporary <br />part-time food service employee (Account 104) for the Jail. The budget <br />amendment as approved was as follows: <br /> <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF SHERIFF/JAIL <br />AMOUNT $4,563.00 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Transfer Between Departments/Funds <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: To appropriate funds for the addition of 1 part-time kitchen <br />staff position to work up to 900 hours in the remainder of 1991-1992. <br /> <br /> Line Item Present Approved Revised <br />Account Number Budget Increase Decrease Budget <br /> <br />01-9-19-10-660 <br /> Contingency <br /> <br />198,252.40 $4,563.00 193,689.40 <br /> <br />01-9-21-30-104 0.00 <br /> Part-time less than 1000 hours <br /> <br />4,563.00 4,563.00 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following agreement for the rental <br />of voting booths to Fieldcrest Cannon, Inc. and authorized Chairman Simmons to <br />execute the Agreement on behalf of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS <br />Cabarrus County, North Carolina <br /> <br /> Cabarrus County agrees to rent sixty-five (65) voting booths <br />to Fieldcrest Cannon, Inc. on August.20, 1991 and August 21, 1991 <br />for the purpose of an election to be conducted at Fieldcrest Cannon, <br />Inc. Fieldcrest Cannon Inc. shall pay the sum of Ten and no/100 <br />($10.00) Dollars per machine as a rental fee for these sixty-five <br />(65) voting booths. <br /> Fieldcrest Cannon, Inc. shall be responsible for the pickup <br />and return of the voting booths to the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Elections. <br /> Fieldcrest Cannon, Inc. shall deposit the sum of Two Thousand <br />and no/lO0 ($2,000.00) Dollars as a deposit to reimburse the County <br />for any damages to the machines. This deposit shall be refunded to <br />Fieldcrest Cannon, Inc. if the machines are returned in proper <br />working order with no damage. <br /> Further, Fieldcrest Cannon, Inc. recognizes that the Two <br />Thousand and no/100 ($2,000.00) Dollar deposit enumerated above <br />should not be considered liquidated damages, but that Fieldcrest <br />Cannon, Inc. shall be fully liable for any damage to the rental <br />equipment which exceeds the amount of deposit ($2,000.00). <br /> This the 5th day of August, 1991. <br /> <br />FIELDCREST CANNON, INC <br />By: /s/ Karen S.
