Cook, Jr., Social Services <br />Director, withdrawing his request of September 30, 1991 to submit an application <br />to the State Division of Social Services for a State grant to operate a Family <br />Preservation Services pilot project. He explained that he had learned that the <br />State would give Cabarrus County a lower priority in its grant proposal selection <br />process since the County has a similar program, the Home Remedies Program, <br />already tn place. The Board acknowledged the withdrawal of the grant application <br />request. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Simmons, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized the advertisement to declare 6.4± acres <br />of County property adjacent to the schoQ1 bus garage and Highway 601 By-Pass as <br />surplus property to be transferred to the Cabarrus County Board of Education in <br />exchange for 4.684± acres on the north side of North Carolina 49 across from <br />Central Cabarrus High School and authorized the School Board to make that <br />transfer. <br /> Mr. Aubrey Attkisson, Emergency Medical Services Director, presented two <br />options for the design of Ambulance Station 2 to replace the existing facility <br />which has to be relocated from its current site at the intersection of Highway <br />601 and North Carolina 49. Option 1 was a stick built dwelling with a total <br />completed cost of $240,000.00, including landscaping and furniture, and an <br />estimated completion time of six to eight months. Option 2 was a manufactured, <br />two story modular house and an adjoining stick built garage bay area with a total <br />completed cost of approximately $200,000.00, including landscaping and furniture, <br />and an estimated completion time of six to eight weeks. During his presentation, <br />Mr. Attkisson pointed out that the proposed modular home would be more compatible <br />with the surrounding residential community at the North Carolina 49 site across <br />from Central Cabarrus High School. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter and <br />unanimously carried, the Board accepted in principle Option 2, the two-story <br />modular home, and directed that the documents be prepared as soon as possible <br />to bid the project. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized Chairman Simmons to execute the <br />following agreement between Cabarrus Memorial Hospital and Cabarrus County <br />Emergency Medical Services for the Emergency Medical Technician Student Clinical <br />Training Program. <br /> <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> between <br /> CABARRUS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL <br /> and <br />GABARRUs COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES <br />EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN STUDENT CLINICAL <br /> TRAINING PROGRAM <br /> <br />AGREEMENT made and dated this 6th day of September, 1991, between <br />Cabarrus Memorial Hospital, hereinafter referred to as the Hospital, <br />and Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Medical <br />Technician Student Clinical Training Program, hereinafter referred <br /> <br /> <br />
