This contract supersedes all previous contracts <br />entered into by Cabarrus Memorial Hospital and Cabarrus County <br />Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Medical Technician Student <br />Clinical Program. <br /> <br />This agreement, reviewed annually, will be in effect from September <br />9, 1991, until terminated by either party by 90 days written notice <br />or revised by mutual agreement. <br />I. The Hospital and Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services <br /> hereby mutually agree with each other to the following: <br /> A. The Hospital is being designated as a resource for <br /> clinical experience in the program. <br /> B. The Hospital will be responsible for the organization, <br /> administration, operation, and funding of its services. <br /> It shall maintain standards accepted by the Joint <br /> Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals and shall <br /> retain responsibility for patient care. <br /> C. The Hospital, the Director of Cabarrus County Emergency <br /> Medical Services, and the on-site supervisor provided <br /> by the Hospital will cooperate in the evaluation of the <br /> program to include removal of participants whose <br /> performance is determined to be detrimental to patient <br /> well-being or achievement of the objectives of the <br /> Program. <br /> D. Participants in the program may utilize the various <br /> departments and patient records of the Hospital, subject <br /> to policies and control of the Hospital. The days and <br /> hours of this educational experience are to be planned <br /> by the Training Officer of Cabarrus County Emergency <br /> Medical Services and the on-site supervisor in <br /> cooperation with the Hospital. It is understood that <br /> the participants in the Program are not entitled to any <br /> compensation in any form from the Hospital in connection <br /> with this educational experience. The on-site <br /> supervisor shall be responsible for supervision, <br /> teaching, selection of patient assignments, and <br /> evaluation of the participants during the practice and <br /> learning experience periods at the Hospital. <br />II. Cabarrus Memorial Hospital agrees to: <br /> A. Assume primary responsibility for services provided by <br /> the Hospital. <br /> B. Permit the Program the use of the Hospital's equipment, <br /> supplies, facilities and patient records for educational <br /> purposes. <br /> C. Provide classroom or conference room space and use of <br /> any instructional materials to the extent reasonably <br /> available. <br /> D. Provide an instructor participant ratio appropriate for <br /> the experience selected. <br /> E. Permit the participants, at their own expense, to use <br /> cafeteria facilities in the Hospital. <br /> F. Provide free parking for participants insofar as <br /> Hospital controlled space is available. <br /> G. Assume no responsibility in the case of accident or <br /> illness suffered by any participant as a participant <br /> under the provisions of this agreement. <br />III. Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services agrees to: <br /> A. Follow established channels in planning for this <br /> experience. <br /> B. Coordinate clinical activities with the on-site <br /> supervisors. <br /> C. Abide by the existing rules and regulations of the <br /> Hospital. <br /> D. Inform participants of the terms of this agreement prior <br /> to. their first clinical involvement. <br /> E. Ensure that participants meet the standards of dress, <br /> behavior and health of the hospital. <br /> F. Require that all participants have professional <br /> liability insurance. <br /> <br /> <br />
