Given shifting retail dynamics <br />favoring more experiential or lifestyle -driven locations, <br />development of retail in mixed-use, more dense residen- <br />tial cores should be encouraged. <br />• Focus demand on more local, neighborhood -serving retail uses as <br />opposed to more regional-serdng'big box" retail. <br />• Encourage retail development in cores or nodes as opposed to <br />strip development along major thoroughfares. <br />• Where possible, deliver retail in more walkable, street -oriented <br />format with strong connectivity to residential areas, parks, green- <br />ways, bike lanes, etc. <br />
