Ms. Brannan is also part of this team. <br />(C-5) County Manager - Memorial Day 2018 Proclamation <br />Chairman Morris read the proclamation aloud. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the proclamation. <br />eroclam tion No. 2018-08 <br />MEMORIAL DAY PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, our ancestors shaped the structure of our political system, laid the <br />groundwork for higher discoveries in science and medical research, <br />started long-lasting traditions that enrich our heritage, and fought <br />in wars so that future generations would have freedom; and <br />WHEREAS, it is important to cherish the memories of our friends and family <br />members who have died, and to remember their contributions towards <br />making our lives better; and <br />WHEREAS, the veterans who fought and died for our country helped preserve the <br />freedoms and rights guaranteed to all people under the U.S. <br />Constitution; and <br />WHEREAS, on Memorial Day, Americans remember the enormous debt of gratitude we <br />owe to our veterans who have lost their lives in the defense of freedom <br />and pursuit of peace and we reflect on the past and renew our patriotism <br />so that we may continue to live in freedom and seek peace so that our <br />veterans will not have died in vain. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED that the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />do hereby recognize May 28, 2018 as <br />MEMORIAL DAY 2018 <br />in Cabarrus County and urges all residents in the county to take time on this. <br />special day of remembrance to honor those who have sacrificed and died to <br />improve our quality of life, and to strengthen our nation. <br />ADOPTED this 21�h day of May, 2018. <br />/s/ Stephen M.
