June 18, 2018 (Regular Meeting) Page 3616 <br />Tom Kurzel serves as a delegate and Ida Mills serves as an alternate. <br />Both have expressed a desire to serve another term. <br />The Home and Community Care Block Grant Committee recommends reappointing <br />Tom Kurzel as delegate and Ida Mills as alternate to the Region F Aging Advisory <br />Committee. A letter of recommendation in that regard was provided. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Tom Kurzel as a delegate to the <br />Region F Aging Advisory Committee for a two-year term ending June 30, 2020. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Ida Mills to the Region F Aging <br />Advisory Committee as the alternate for a one-year term ending June 30, 2019. <br />(H-8) Appointments and Removals - Cabarrus County Tourism Authority <br />The Cabarrus County Tourism Authority Board of Directors has 4 seats that <br />need to be appointed for the term commencing July 1, 2018 and expiring on June <br />30, 2021. The nominating group and their nominees are as follows: <br />- Cabarrus County - Seat #4 Diane Honeycutt* <br />- Cabarrus Regional Chamber of Commerce - Seat #6 Owen Parker <br />- Cabarrus County Tourism Authority - Seat #5 Terry Crawford <br />- Cabarrus County Tourism Authority - Seat #11 Angie Brown* <br />Jennifer Parsley and Joel Griffin's terms on the Cabarrus County Tourism <br />Authority ends June 30th. They are not eligible to serve another term. It is <br />requested to remove their names from the roster. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Kiger <br />and unanimously carried, the Board removed Jennifer Parsley (Seat #5) and Joel <br />Griffin (Seat #6) from the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority roster and thanked <br />them for their service. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Diane Honeycutt (Seat #4) and Angie <br />Brown (Seat #11) to the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority for three-year terms <br />ending June 30, 2021. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Owen Parker (Seat #6) and Terry <br />Crawford (Seat #5) to the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority for three-year terms <br />ending June 30, 2021. <br />(H-9) Appointments and Removals - Juvenile Crime Prevention Council <br />At the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council's (JCPC) May 16th meeting, the <br />Council voted to recommend Megan Baumgardner and Michelle Wilson to be <br />reappointed to their positions on the JCPC. A letter in that regard has been <br />provided. Ms. Baumgardner has served on this Council since 2010 and also serves <br />on the Active Living and Parks Commission. Ms. Wilson has served on this Council <br />since 2009. An exception to the "service on multiple boards" and "length of <br />service" provision of the Appointment Policy will be needed for Ms. Baumgardner <br />and an exception to the "length of service" provision will be needed for Ms. <br />Wilson. <br />In addition, Jessica Herrera (Student under 18) graduated from high school <br />and is no longer eligible to fill that position. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Kiger <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Megan Baumgardner and Michelle <br />Wilson to the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council for two-year terms ending June <br />30, 2020; including an exception to the "length of service" and "service on <br />multiple boards" provisions of the Appointment Policy for Ms. Baumgardner and <br />an exception to the "length of service provision of the Appointment Policy for <br />Ms. Wilson. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board removed Jessica Herrera from the Juvenile Crime <br />Prevention Council roster and thanked her for her service. <br />(H-10) Appointments and Removals - Public Health Authority of Cabarrus County <br />
